Privacy policy

Torrey Labs ("we" or "us") runs torreylabs.org and its online store. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- What you give us. Your name, email address and message when you sign up for emails or contact us. When you reserve or buy, your name, email, phone number, shipping and billing addresses, and order details.
- Payment details. These are entered on the secure checkout and handled by the payment processor. We never see or store your full card number.
- What is collected automatically. Our store platform, Shopify, uses cookies and similar tools to collect your device and browser type, IP address, the pages you view, how you reached the site, and what's in your cart. This keeps the cart and checkout working, protects the site, and shows us how it is used.
How we use it
- To take and ship reservations and orders, and to send receipts and order updates.
- To answer your messages and support you, including questions about product safety and lot numbers.
- To send our emails, only if you sign up. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link.
- To run, protect and improve the site, and to prevent fraud.
- To keep the records that tax and other laws require.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your personal information. We share it only:
- with companies that do work for us, such as Shopify, payment processors, shipping carriers and our email service, and only for that work;
- when the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety or our rights; and
- with a buyer or successor if our business is sold or reorganized.
Shopify and the payment provider you choose at checkout may also collect information about your visit under their own privacy policies. Pages with content from other sites, such as videos, let those sites collect information under their own policies too. Shopify may also use information from your visit, together with information from other stores, to improve its services and for ad targeting and personalization, under its own privacy policy.
Cookies and Do Not Track
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but the cart and checkout need some cookies to work. Our site does not currently respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe from our emails with the link in any of them, or by writing to us.
- To see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, write to us through the contact form on our site. We answer within 30 days. We may need to keep some records, such as orders, as the law requires.
- To opt out of Shopify using information from your visit for ad targeting, use the "Your privacy choices" link at the bottom of any page.
Security and how long we keep it
We use reasonable safeguards, and payments go through a secure checkout. We keep order records as long as tax and accounting laws require, and your email address until you unsubscribe.
Children
Our site and products are for adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you think a child has given us information, write to us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version on this page with a new effective date. If a change is significant, we'll also put a notice on the home page for 30 days.
